Just a few weeks ago, Hearing Solutions owner and audiologist Beth Levine attended the 2014 Academy of Doctors of Audiology Convention (ADA) in Las Vegas, Nevada. While there, she took part in several conferences and presentations featuring audiologists from around the country. Beth also visited several workshops focused on improving hearing care and patient-oriented business operations.
At the keynote presentation, Dr. Frank Lin of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine discussed the importance of hearing care for hearing impaired individuals of all ages, placing particular emphasis on the impact hearing loss can have on one’s social life and related physical health. He pointed out the dangers of untreated hearing loss and presented future plans to research correlations between hearing loss and other health risks, including dementia. Dr. Lin went on to reveal that despite the 26.7 million people struggling with hearing loss, only about 3.8 million wear hearing aids, something that he hopes will change with positive emphasis on healthy aging and hearing care. It is our own commitment at Hearing Solutions to stress the importance of having one’s hearing checked regularly and we hope that our patients always feel that they can seek hearing help with confidence and a positive outlook.
Beth’s dedication to and passion for her field has allowed her to excel as an audiologist. The ADA Convention was a great opportunity to meet with colleagues and professionals like herself to discuss important issues, future endeavors, and ways to better patient care, which is always her priority.
